International Kite Surf Magazine, IKSURFMAG for short, has been around for a few years now, during that time it has become one of the most respected kitesurfing magazines on the planet. Read in over 160 countries worldwide the magazine has reached hundreds of thousands of kitesurfers around the globe.
Of course IKSURFMAG isn’t just any magazine, the team behind it pioneered digital publishing back in 2006 allowing the magazine to take on a wholly more interactive feel. The page flipping technology created a real buzz in the kitesurfing world and the ability to embed video right on the pages of the magazine got lots of kiters and industry folk excited.
The first magazine ever published went live in November 2006 and started out as just 32mb of information. The tests are also popular, IKSURFMAG is the only magazine to feature full video tests which show the equipment being flown and ridden, this allows the reader a unique perspective. The winning formula is completed with travel stories that are both inspirational and achievable and interviews with some of the major players in this amazing sport.
Perhaps the best thing about IKSURFMAG is that it’s free to read, the team don’t charge the reader a penny, just drop by the website and have a browse, you don’t even need to subscribe. They also keep all the back issues online so you can check out any magazine you want when you want. A recent revamp of the website also made it even easier to access certain articles. Just about everything is databased and you can simply search the databases to find what you want, be it a particular test, a move you want tips on or even more information on a travel location.
Published 6 times a year IKSURFMAG should definitely be on your to do list if you kitesurf, and even if you don’t it is still worth checking out!
