Watergate Bay, Airhead Surf Diary

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

Nothing happening on the eastern front but in the deepest west at Watergate bay the first round of the BKSA competitions is underway.

First thing Saturday saw the wind cross off shore which was not good for anything, this prompted Airhead rider Paul and a couple of others to wonder off to a secret spot where the wind direction was working better, but as the morning progressed the wind came round and the competition got under way. Annalisa informed me the conditions were gusty, but at least it was ride-able.

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

While most of the Airhead team are getting their kit ready and heading down for the weekend of kitesurfing at the Watergate Bay Kitesurf Comp I have just learnt that Neil Hilder is in Spain. After a week back from South Africa Neil was invited to take part in the Red Bull Kite Punks event.

Neil took part in the first Red Bull Kite Punks event in Holland at the end of 2006 where he met up with his international kiting buddies Aaron Hadlow three time kitesurfing world champion and Ruben Lenten Red Bull King of the Air winner.

See Breeze and the BKSA round one

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

Today saw the first sea breeze of the season, with south coast temperature rising to 20c it was a glimpse of what is to come in the next few months, with after work sessions and the Littlehampton legendry sea breeze kicking in it’s all looking good.

The Team are getting super excited about this weekend’s round one of the BKSA championships. The nerves are kicking in with the Airhead Junior squad but these young riders have what it takes, keep an eye out for Oli and Dan Sweeney along with Toby Raw who has built himself up to make even the pro’s worry. Pete Shiplee and Annalisa Dovey will also be there giving their all in the competition. Watch this space for news from the Airhead Kitesurf Team over the coming weekend…………….The Airhead will be back

British Summer Time at last

Monday, March 26th, 2007

At last we have put the clocks forward for British Summer Time and we had fantastic sunshine all day if the weather stays like this we will all soon be having evening sessions at Littlehampton beach, it is 7.45 pm and we are only just losing the light.

Today we had a long chat with the guy’s from Maxtrack about the new MBS range that will be in the UK by mid April all going to plan, the range has got stronger for 2007 with the introduction of new tyres and a new truck, both of these will retro fit to most boards. We are looking forward to getting these babies in.

Team Airhead

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

OK well nothing much happened today, the wind is still off shore and it’s not that warm so it was time for a sort out at the ranch, boring but productive..

News from the team..
The Airhead team will be heading down to Watergate Bay, Cornwall for the first round of the BKSA Kitesurf Championships on 30th March – 1st April and they are buzzing round the shop making sure they have the kit they need, if you are heading down to the comp look for the Airhead banner and make sure you come over and say high to the guys and girls on the squad. Hopefully if all goes to plan we will be getting feed back form the team on how they think the comp is going to put up on the blog so make sure you come back for that.

Anyway nothing much else to report so I will hopefully have more to tell you soon …… good wind and good riding captain Airhead
