Stand Up Paddle Surffing Forum & Blog: Airhead Surf Diary

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

While I have been posting quite a bit on the Airhead Surf Diary about Stand Up Paddle Surfing and the different things we have going on with our club and equipment etc we have noticed a couple of other sites that have a good vibe and lots of good info on SUP.

The sites to check out are

SUP general info and a great blog

SUP Forum & Info site

Both people who are into Stand Up Paddle Boarding run these sites and though the sites are both new they will develop with time and both have the UK SUP community at their heart…. Check them out and let us know what you think

As you know….. More from the Airhead real soon

Paddle Surfing What a Week: Airhead Surf Diary

Sunday, August 12th, 2007

This has been great week for getting out on the paddle boards, not much in the way of surf but some great warm summers days on the water and just enjoy being out in great company..

Some evening session but best of all some fantastic early morning sessions, hitting the water before other people descend on the beach is just the best way to start the day.. the combination of the warmth of the sun and paddle boarding is great, or it could be the fact that I fall off and the water is waking me up but what ever I can recommend it to anyone.

XM 12′ Paddle Board Leash: Airhead Surf Diary

Monday, August 6th, 2007

The XM 12 foot paddleboard coil leash has landed….. Yep after three weeks of waiting for these babies to hit Airhead the postman delivered them to us today.

My first impression on opening the box is that they are everything we were hoping for… a good solid cord with good fittings, the quick release is well made…. I was hoping to get out this evening to give them a really good test but the wind was kicking in so the plan is now to get out in the morning so I can come back with a proper review on them…..

So as I always say……. more from the Airhead real soon

Naish Kitesurf 2008 and C4 Waterman SUP: Airhead Surf Diary

Sunday, August 5th, 2007

We have not talked much about kitesurf for a while and that’s because there not been much to say, that’s all changing as we start to see the guy’s coming round showing us the new 2008 kite surf kit….. this week James from Naish came to show Airhead the all new Naish Helix kite…. the new Helix uses a large depower range along with performance to give the rider the ultimate kite.. the Naish Helix looks totally different to any other kite on the market at this time and we are looking forward to getting our hands on our demo Helix so we can give you a full review.

The next bit of news comes from C4 Waterman… Airhead is set to be one of the first places you will be able to demo one of the C4 Stand Up Paddle Boards in the UK. The range of boards come in 10′, 10′6″ and 11′6″, each board includes custom C4 2-peice deck pad with integrated tail pad….. if they are half as good as the paddles we will be very happy.

Will the fun ever stop…….. More from the Airhead very soon

Stand Up for Starboard SUP: Airhead Surf Diary

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

Well it seems that summer has finally arrived…. ahh nice warm days, classic flat-water paddleboard sessions.

Today John Hibbard from Starboard came down for a Stand Up Paddleboard session with the Airhead crew, no waves just flat water and a great evening paddle out from Littlehampton and a chance for us to try each other’s kit. The Starboard paddle board is a great, different from my Jimmy Lewis as its a foot longer at 12ft but the tail narrows much more, this makes the board turn nice and easy so you don’t notice the extra foot but it is still very stable at 30″ wide. John has left the board with me so I am going to get out on it as much as possible and hopefully we will get some waves…. please

Check back soon to see how the Airhead gets on with the Starboard SUP
