I have just been checking the weather and swell reports for the coming days ahead…..
Winter swells are coming with big low-pressure systems heading across the Atlantic it looks like we could be in for some fun in the coming days ahead…… I am sure in the next few days the kite surfers will be checking their gear ready to hit the water and when the wind dies down the Stand Up People will only to happy to see the swell reports.

There is a change in the weather this week and I have just been reading that after such a poor winter season in 06 / 07 this coming season is set to be an epic….. I am not sure if what I have been reading is just wishfull thinking but the experts are telling us that Europe is going to get some of the best conditions it has seen for years.

Airhead and Pure are closed for a refit for the next couple of weeks but when the shop re-opens in mid October the shop will be full of the latest snowboards and clothing…. personally I am looking forward to those crisp winter mornings…. but for those of you who surf we can also look forward to the winter swells too……. rock on… it’s fun fun fun from now on.

BSUPA the British Stand Up Paddleboard Association has now been formed
BSUPA has been set up as an information site for the UK Stand Up Community… to help promote the sport and help others get involved in Stand Up Paddle Boarding…. you will find loads of info… a forum and a blog from one of the UK’s leading Stand Up guy’s Olaus who will be posting his thoughts on and experience’s

The first British Stand Up Paddle Surf competition was held at Watergate Bay in the 29th September 2007.
The event was well attended with top national and international riders turning up at the beach… they where greeted by 3 foot glassy surf and a near perfect conditions that could have been wished for. There where two events…. open surf and the endurance.

The Open Surf had 34 entrants split into Men’s and Ladies all hoping to make their way up the leader board to become the first UK Stand Up Paddle Surf winners….. with a fantastic atmosphere everybody’s best efforts there be one men’s and one ladies winner. (results at the end of this post)
