Bic Jungle Tested: Airhead Surf Diary
This week I have managed to get on the water twice… Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and boy is that water cold.
Tuesday, I managed to get away from the shop to have a paddle with Claire, she was on her new Oxbow 10ft in fact we were both on Oxbow boards… A great flat water session and just the second time I have been on the water in 2008 so it was great just to get out there…
Wednesday I went out with Andy from Ultra Sport the UK importers for Bic and the Oxbow boards… This is the first time I had seen the new Bic Jungle… The board is set to be a jack of all trades changing from Stand Up Paddle Board to sit on top Kayak even Windsurf Board but really I was just interested in how it performed as an SUP…
First impression is that this board is made in the same way Bic make most of their surf range which is almost bomb proof… a good start… The Bic Jungle comes complete with non slip rubber deck grip and a carry handle for easy of getting up and down the beach it also has the option to put in a dagger board for stability, nice if its a first time board and you have not quite got your balance nailed… now to the crunch, how does this board paddle? well I was impressed the rocker line allows this board to glide over the water with ease… turning was also easy… remember I did not try the Bic Jungle in the surf but my guess is that it will be good… also it is not pretending to be a full on wave beast it is designed to fit in with an active person or family that wants to play on the water doing all sorts of activities… my opinion is that the Bic Jungle will be loads of fun…
If the Bic Jungle sounds of interest to you then give us a call and book a demo, in fact if you just want to try Stand Up Paddle Boarding then give us a shout as we have a few demo boards available and I’m always looking to get out of the shop!
More from the Airhead soon…… Ride Safe
